Prices are guaranteed only at the time of confirmed payment and written confirmation. Gallivanting Tours reserves the right to revise quoted prices in the event of supplier rate changes, currency fluctuations, government levies, or unforeseen cost increases prior to confirmation.

- Private AC vehicles are provided for all transfers as specified in the itinerary.
- Vehicles operate strictly as per the itinerary schedule and confirmed pickup points.
- Vehicles are not at the disposal of guests for unscheduled or personal use unless separately arranged and charged.
- Guests are requested to be ready at the designated pickup point at least 10 minutes before the scheduled departure time.
- In the event of significant delay by guests (exceeding 30 minutes), the vehicle may be re-allocated. No refund or replacement vehicle is guaranteed in such cases.
- Gallivanting Tours is not responsible for traffic conditions, road closures, or vehicle breakdowns beyond our reasonable control.
Boat Transportation
- Shared boat services, where included, operate on scheduled timings managed by third-party ferry or boat operators.
- Seating allocation on shared ferry services is subject to the operator's discretion and seat availability.
- Private charter boats are available at additional cost and are subject to separate booking terms and weather conditions.
- Guests are required to report at the ferry jetty at least 45 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time. Late arrivals may forfeit their booking with no refund.
Gallivanting Tours strongly advises guests not to plan any onward travel (flights, trains) on the same day as inter-island ferry crossings. Weather conditions and operational delays can affect ferry schedules without advance notice.
Hotel Policy
Check-in · Check-out · Room allocation · Child policyStandard hotel check-in time is 2:00 PM and check-out time is 12:00 Noon, unless specifically confirmed otherwise. These timings are set by individual hotel properties and Gallivanting Tours cannot guarantee deviations.
Early check-in is subject to room availability at the time of arrival and is at the sole discretion of the hotel. Gallivanting Tours can request early check-in on your behalf but cannot guarantee it. An additional charge may be levied by the hotel directly.
Late check-out is subject to room availability and the hotel's policy on the day. An additional half-day or full-day charge may be levied by the hotel directly. Gallivanting Tours is not responsible for these charges.
Room type, floor, and specific room allocation are at the hotel's discretion. Gallivanting Tours will communicate your preferences (sea view, high floor, etc.) but cannot guarantee specific room allocation. Requests are noted, not guaranteed.
Children below 5 years of age (without an extra bed) are generally complimentary at most Andaman properties. Children aged 6–12 years sharing the same room with parents, without an extra bed, are subject to individual hotel policy. Children above 12 years are typically charged as adults. Exact child policy will be specified in your package quotation.
All guests (including children above 5 years) are required to present a valid government-issued photo ID at the time of hotel check-in. Foreign nationals must present their passport. Hotels reserve the right to deny check-in without valid ID, and no refund shall be applicable in such cases.
In the event a confirmed hotel becomes unavailable due to overbooking or unforeseen circumstances, Gallivanting Tours will arrange accommodation of equivalent or higher category at no additional cost to the guest. Where this is not possible, a proportionate refund will be processed.
Ferry & Cruise Policy
Operators · Schedules · Delays · Disruptions- Operator Substitution: Gallivanting Tours reserves the right to substitute any ferry or cruise operator with another operator of equivalent class without prior notice, subject to availability and operational requirements.
- Schedule Changes: Ferry and cruise schedules are set and operated by third-party operators and are subject to change without notice. Gallivanting Tours will notify guests of material changes as soon as possible.
- Delays: Delays caused by weather, technical issues, port congestion, or operational factors are beyond Gallivanting Tours' control. No compensation is payable for delays caused by ferry operators or government-controlled port authorities.
- Technical Disruptions: In the event of mechanical failure, vessel breakdown, or technical disruption, the ferry operator's terms and refund policy shall apply. Gallivanting Tours will assist guests in making alternative arrangements wherever possible.
- Cancellation by Operator: If a ferry is cancelled by the operator due to weather or operational reasons, Gallivanting Tours will attempt to rebook the next available sailing. Any additional hotel costs incurred as a result shall be borne by the guest unless specifically covered in your package.
- Boarding Requirements: Guests must carry their ferry tickets (physical or digital) and a valid photo ID when boarding. Failure to do so may result in denied boarding without refund.
Cellular Jail Light & Sound Show Policy
Government-operated · Subject to cancellationPlease read carefully. The Cellular Jail Light & Sound Show is one of the most common areas of guest dispute. This section explains exactly how it works.
- The Cellular Jail Light & Sound Show is a government-operated attraction under the Andaman & Nicobar Administration. Gallivanting Tours has no operational control over this show.
- The show is subject to cancellation or postponement at the discretion of the government authority — due to weather, national mourning, government functions, maintenance, technical failure, or any other reason without advance notice.
- Entry tickets are purchased on your behalf. In the event of cancellation, refunds are subject to the applicable government authority's policy. Gallivanting Tours shall not be liable for non-refund of entry tickets in such cases.
- The show is conducted in specific languages on designated days. The show schedule is determined by the Andaman & Nicobar Administration and is subject to change.
- Gallivanting Tours shall not be held responsible for any disappointment, inconvenience, or financial loss arising from the cancellation or modification of the Cellular Jail Light & Sound Show.
Guest Responsibilities
ID · Punctuality · Safety · Local lawsAll guests are required to comply with the following responsibilities throughout the duration of their trip:
- Carry a valid government-issued photo ID at all times (Aadhaar, Passport, Voter ID, or Driving Licence).
- Report to designated pickup points, ferry jetties, and activity locations at least the specified time before scheduled departure.
- Follow all safety instructions provided by crew members, guides, activity operators, and Gallivanting Tours staff.
- Comply with all applicable local laws, regulations, and community norms of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
- Respect restricted and tribal areas. Entry to tribal reserve areas without authorised permits is a criminal offence under Indian law.
- Adhere to marine conservation guidelines — no touching or standing on coral, no collection of shells, sand, or marine life.
- Respect the privacy and cultural practices of local communities.
Gallivanting Tours reserves the right to terminate a guest's participation in any activity or service without refund if the guest fails to comply with safety or legal requirements, and such non-compliance poses a risk to themselves, other guests, or staff.
Itinerary Modifications
Weather · Government restrictions · SafetyGallivanting Tours reserves the right to modify, alter, or substitute any component of a confirmed itinerary — including order of sightseeing, ferry timings, hotel properties (to equivalent category), or specific activities — under the following circumstances:
- Adverse weather or sea conditions
- Government restrictions or directives
- Port and ferry suspension orders
- Safety concerns for guests or crew
- Natural disasters or environmental events
- Third-party operator unavailability
- Technical or operational failures
- Any factor beyond reasonable control
Gallivanting Tours will make all reasonable efforts to provide substitute activities or revised itineraries in the event of such changes. Where substitute activities are not possible, a proportionate refund of affected components will be considered — subject to recovery from the relevant supplier.
We always recommend building buffer days into your Andaman itinerary — especially for expeditions to remote locations such as Barren Island, Diglipur, or Long Island where weather can significantly impact operations.
Water Sports & Adventure Activities
Third-party operated · Participation at own riskImportant: All water sports and adventure activities are operated by licensed third-party operators. Participation is entirely at the guest's own risk.
- Water sports (scuba diving, snorkelling, sea walk, parasailing, jet ski, kayaking, etc.) are operated by independent licensed third-party activity operators. Gallivanting Tours facilitates booking on behalf of guests but does not operate these activities directly.
- All adventure and water sports activities are subject to the individual operator's safety guidelines, health requirements, age restrictions, and weather conditions.
- Participation by guests with known health conditions (heart conditions, respiratory conditions, pregnancy, recent surgery, epilepsy, etc.) is at the guest's own risk. Gallivanting Tours recommends consulting a physician prior to participation.
- Activity operators reserve the right to deny participation to any guest they deem unfit, without prior notice. No refund shall be applicable in such cases.
- Activities may be cancelled or suspended at short notice due to rough sea conditions, poor visibility, adverse weather, or operator discretion. Refunds in such cases are subject to the operator's individual policy.
- Gallivanting Tours shall not be liable for any accident, injury, loss of life, property damage, or any other claim arising from participation in water sports or adventure activities.
Medical Fitness & Emergencies
Guest responsibility for health & medical costs- Guests are solely responsible for assessing and confirming their own medical fitness to travel and participate in activities before booking.
- Guests must carry all required personal medications, prescriptions, and medical documents throughout the trip. Gallivanting Tours cannot be held responsible for unavailability of specific medications in the Andaman Islands.
- All medical expenses, emergency treatment costs, hospitalisation charges, and evacuation expenses are the sole responsibility of the guest.
- Guests with existing medical conditions (diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, asthma, pregnancy, etc.) must inform Gallivanting Tours at the time of booking. Failure to disclose may result in denial of specific services or activities without refund.
- Medical facilities in the outer islands (Havelock, Neil, Diglipur, etc.) are limited. Guests with serious medical conditions should discuss appropriateness of travel to specific destinations with their physician before confirming their itinerary.
- In the event of a medical emergency during the trip, Gallivanting Tours staff will assist in coordinating transport to the nearest available medical facility. All costs incurred shall be borne by the guest or their insurance provider.
Baggage & Personal Belongings
Guest responsibility for luggage and valuables- Guests are solely responsible for the safekeeping and security of their personal baggage, valuables, documents, and electronic devices throughout the trip.
- Gallivanting Tours, its staff, vehicles, or affiliated hotels are not liable for the loss, theft, or damage of personal belongings at any point during the trip.
- Guests are advised to use hotel safes for valuables and to exercise caution in public areas, ferry terminals, and water sports locations.
- Baggage carried on inter-island ferries is the responsibility of the guest. Gallivanting Tours is not responsible for loss or damage during ferry transit.
- Guests are strongly advised to carry travel insurance that includes baggage loss coverage. See Section 16 for details.
Guest Conduct
Behaviour standards and consequences of misconductGallivanting Tours expects all guests to conduct themselves responsibly and respectfully throughout their trip. The following constitute grounds for immediate termination of services without refund:
- Verbal abuse, threats, or physical aggression directed at Gallivanting Tours staff, hotel employees, ferry crew, or activity operators.
- Behaviour that endangers the safety or well-being of other guests, staff, or the general public.
- Wilful damage to hotel property, vehicles, vessels, or any property associated with our services.
- Possession or use of illegal substances, or any conduct that violates applicable Indian laws.
- Consumption of alcohol in public spaces where prohibited under local law.
- Attempted entry into restricted tribal reserve areas, or any interaction with designated tribal communities in violation of the Protection of Aboriginal Tribes (Regulation) Act.
- Environmental damage — collecting coral, shells, or sand; disturbing wildlife; littering in marine or forest areas.
In cases of misconduct, Gallivanting Tours reserves the right to terminate all services immediately without refund. The company will not be liable for any additional costs, losses, or inconvenience arising from such termination, and may report the matter to relevant authorities.
Force Majeure Policy Key Clause

- Cyclones, storms, and severe weather
- Tsunami or earthquake
- Floods and landslides

We will not, however, be liable for any direct, indirect, consequential, or punitive losses, costs, or damages arising from such events.
The Andaman & Nicobar Islands experience cyclone activity typically between May and November. Travel during this period carries inherent weather risk. We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance with comprehensive weather disruption coverage if travelling during monsoon or pre-monsoon periods.
Third-Party Supplier Disclaimer
Hotels · Ferries · Airlines · Activity operatorsGallivanting Tours operates as a travel organiser and destination management company. We arrange and coordinate services from various third-party suppliers on behalf of our guests. We do not own, operate, or directly control the following:
- Hotel and resort properties
- Inter-island ferry operators (Makruzz, Nautika, ITT Majestic, Green Ocean, government vessels)
- Domestic and international airline carriers
- Water sports and adventure activity operators
- Private boat and charter operators
- Government attractions and national parks
- Restaurant, food, and beverage providers
Whilst we carefully select our supplier partners, Gallivanting Tours shall not be held liable for any failure, deficiency, negligence, accident, or any other issue arising from the services of third-party suppliers. Guests' rights in relation to such failures rest with the individual supplier, subject to the supplier's own terms and conditions, Indian consumer protection law, and any applicable licensing regulations.
Travel Insurance Recommendation Recommended
Strongly recommended for all guestsGallivanting Tours strongly recommends that all guests purchase comprehensive travel insurance before confirming their booking. Travel insurance is not included in any of our packages.
We recommend a policy that covers, at minimum, the following:
- Trip cancellation and curtailment
- Medical emergency and hospitalisation
- Emergency medical evacuation
- Flight delays, cancellations, and diversions
- Baggage loss, delay, or damage
- Weather-related disruptions and natural disasters
- Adventure and water sports activities (if participating)
- Personal accident and accidental death cover
Travel insurance is widely available through domestic insurers including HDFC Ergo, Bajaj Allianz, ICICI Lombard, and others. Given the island nature of the Andamans and inherent weather unpredictability, travel insurance is not merely a recommendation — it is a prudent necessity.
